About Us

Peter Wilhelmus is joint owner with his wife Coreen, of Ormond Aquaculture Ltd (OAL) which company farms salmon in freshwater. Click on the Organic Salmon link for more on this part of the aquaculture complex. Peter has been involved with freshwater salmon farming for over 13 years.

David Smythe is a Resource Management Consultant with over 30 years experience. He has been involved with the marine farming industry since 1984 and has been in the freshwater aquaculture industry as partner in NZCC since its inception.

New Zealand Clearwater Crayfish (Koura) Ltd was born out of a common casual interest between Peter and David to investigate the possibility of farming koura, something that had not been successfully done in New Zealand before.

Together Peter and David can provide consulting services for anyone wishing to consider a freshwater aquaculture venture.
